Miss Earth
Becoming Miss Earth was the defining moment of my journey as a beauty queen. Representing India on the international stage was an honor like no other, but more than just a title, this crown carried a profound responsibility. As Miss Earth, I became an ambassador for the environment, advocating for causes that protect our planet and inspire global change. Winning this title not only marked the pinnacle of my career but also fueled my lifelong passion for sustainability and environmental justice. Through this platform, I dedicated my reign to raising awareness, driving action, and empowering others to care for the Earth. This victory was about more than a crown—it was about making a lasting impact on the world.

Impact of the Title
As Miss Earth 2010, I had the honor of being part of impactful environmental initiatives across the globe. Closer to home, I championed the Save the Lakes campaign in Bangalore, India. My efforts were dedicated to preserving the city’s beautiful but endangered lakes, which are crucial for maintaining the local ecosystem and providing fresh water. I worked alongside local organizations to promote water conservation, address pollution, and raise awareness about the importance of protecting these vital water bodies.

One of my most significant projects was advocating for the Save the Elephant and Save the Tiger campaigns, primarily focused in India. These initiatives were dedicated to protecting endangered species from poaching and habitat destruction. Raising awareness about these majestic animals, particularly in the regions where they are most vulnerable, was a cause I felt deeply connected to.
Additionally, I was involved in the I Am Plastic Free campaign, where I participated in beach clean-up initiatives in India and the Philippines. Working with local communities, we tackled plastic pollution and promoted sustainable practices to reduce the immense impact of plastic waste on our oceans.
One of the highlights of my journey was planting trees in Finland as part of a global reforestation initiative aimed at combating climate change. Each tree planted served as a small but powerful step toward mitigating climate change and restoring natural habitats.

A deeply memorable moment of my reign was reading a letter on behalf of Dr. Jane Goodall at an event in New York City. Being entrusted to deliver her message of hope for environmental conservation was both humbling and inspiring. It strengthened my resolve to continue advocating for our planet long after my reign.
These global experiences reaffirmed my belief that being Miss Earth is more than just holding a title – it is about making meaningful change and using one’s voice to inspire others to take action for a better, more sustainable world.
Memories and Media
My journey as Miss Earth 2010 is filled with unforgettable memories, captured and shared through the lens of media outlets around the world. From my crowning moment to each global initiative I championed, these memories became more than personal milestones- they became stories that helped spread awareness about the causes I deeply care about.

The media’s coverage of my crowning moment in Vietnam was the beginning of a new chapter, not just for me but for India, as I became the country’s first Miss Earth. This significant moment was celebrated globally, marking the start of an impactful reign.

Throughout my journey, media outlets documented my environmental advocacy. From Save the Elephant, Save the Tiger and Save the Lakes campaigns in India to beach clean-ups in the Philippines and tree planting initiatives in Finland, the media helped amplify the message of conservation and sustainability to a wider audience.

One of the most memorable media moments was when I had the honor of reading a letter on behalf of Dr. Jane Goodall at an event in New York City. Her message of hope resonated far and wide, and being entrusted with delivering it was both humbling and inspiring. Media coverage of this event reinforced the idea that every small action contributes to global change.

Fashion also played a significant role during my reign, as I transitioned from walking the runway at Lakme Fashion Week before Miss India to appearing in magazines like Elle and GQ. These media features highlighted not only my pageant journey but also my environmental mission, merging fashion with purpose.

Through the media, my experiences were shared with the world, helping to spread awareness and encourage others to take action for the planet. Every interview, article, and appearance wasn’t just about being in the spotlight- it was about using that platform to inspire change.

Legacy and Continuing Advocacy
Becoming Miss Earth 2010 was a transformative experience that shaped my commitment to environmental advocacy. My reign allowed me to work closely on issues like wildlife conservation, sustainability, and climate change, all of which remain incredibly important to me. Through these experiences, I realized the power of using my platform for positive change, inspiring me to continue this journey beyond my reign.
In line with my passion for making a lasting impact, I founded my own NGO, Care for Me, which focuses on providing support and resources for wildlife protection, sustainable living, and community-driven environmental initiatives. Through Care for Me, I aim to bring people together to act collectively on behalf of our planet, ensuring that every individual has the tools to make a difference.
Looking forward, my goal is to expand the reach of Care for Me, and to continue partnering with like-minded organizations to tackle the most pressing environmental issues. I believe that through education, empowerment, and action, we can create a better, more sustainable future for all.
